about
The song started with the question of whether everybody is destined to meet someone or not. Lyrically, we began toying with the idea that perhaps they are, and perhaps you've even brushed shoulders with your soulmate before and they didn't even know it. The song came to life as we took the opportunity to tell a story of a protagonist's fascination with a lover she hasn't met. The moving production that accompanies the story, edifies the journey with a single acoustic guitar to begin with and a string arrangement with three part harmonies to climax. Overall, 'If You Were Poison' tells a sombre yet sensual story of love and fantasy.
lyrics
Where did he come from nobody knows
His velvet voice keeps me on my toes
Such direct eyes forcing me to fight the butterflies
He's making me to wonder
Where have you been all this time?
Where have you been all my life?
Coz the way I'm feeling should be a crime
Where have you been all this time?
Whatever his motives I can't ignore
The way I feel when you walk through the door
Oceans between us but in my mind I find I'm already yours
He's making me to wonder
Where have you been all this time?
Where have you been all my life?
Coz the way I'm feeling should be a crime
Where have you been all this time?
Wonder what it's like to feel your breath on my skin
Hands on my waist as you pull me in
Wouldn't it be nice let our story begin
If you were poison I'd still drink you in
Wonder what it's like to feel your breath on my skin
Hands on my waist as you pull me in
Wouldn't it be nice let our story begin
If you were poison I'd still drink you in
Wonder what it's like to feel your breath on my skin
Hands on my waist as you pull me in
Wouldn't it be nice let our story begin
If you were poison I'd still drink you in
Wonder what it's like to feel your breath on my skin
Hands on my waist as you pull me in
Wouldn't it be nice let our story begin
If you were poison I'd still drink you in
If you were poison I'd still drink you in
If you were poison I'd still drink you in
You're making me to wonder
